what is the best recovery time between workouts for bodybuilding?

hi im workin on puttin on some seriouse muscle but ive been workin the same muscle every other day and i was told at my gym if i give it more time il get even more results. how much time should i wait before workin the same muscle again?..

    depends on the muscle… larger muscle groups like your legs or back require longer amounts of time. if youre doing heavy sets to failure (6-12 reps) which is what you should be doing if you want to get big, you should find a workout that uses a split (each muscle group is worked on a dif day, once or twice a week). the perfect recovery time is different for different people. if youre younger, you have more testosterone and its probably shorter, but who knows. try some mass building workouts on this website: http://www.bodybuilding.com they'll have good splits that give you adaquate recovery time
